All of the music in this concert was written by composers who lived in or spent time in the county of Essex. Programme includes: - Vaughan William's Mass in G Minor; and his arrangement of the first folk song he collected in Essex - a setting by Thaxted resident Gustav Holst of a poem by William Morris who was born in Walthamstow - words of Julian of Norwich set by local composer and musician Geoffrey Winters - pieces (including some first performances) by living composers who have lived or worked in Essex: Jonathan Rathbone, Pam Slatter, John Garner, Alan Bullard and Simon Winters - Renaissance music by Thomas Tallis, William Byrd and John Wilbye who were based in Waltham Abbey, Stondon Massey and Colchester. Tickets are £12.50 in advance via Ticketsource or £15 on the door. Free for children and full-time students under 25.
