Cockermouth Golden Age Concert

The Golden Age – Concert 18 July 2026 Composers including Vaughan Williams, Parry, Holst and Howells were writing wonderful choral music at the beginning of the twentieth century. This has come to be known as the golden age of British choral music. Ian Wright will be presenting a concert of golden age songs featuring Cockermouth Harmonic Singers and the Throstle Ensemble. The music, including Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs, varies from spiritual to stirring, but is always very listenable. The concert starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 18 July 2026, and takes place at Christ Church, Sullart Street, Cockermouth. Suitable for all the family, tickets will cost £16, with accompanied u-16s £5.
