Coho Festival 2024

Coho Festival activities include the Coho Salmon Barbecue featuring sustainably harvested wild salmon, the Coho Beach Bar offering local craft beer, cider and premium wines, the Stewardship Zone presenting local and regional exhibitors involved in rejuvenating, maintaining and improving the North Shores streams, rivers, oceans, parks and forests and MainStage entertainment including the Squamish Nation Canoe Family that will present the traditional 'Blessing of the Salmon' Ceremony at approximately 1pm. Other activities include the curated Tent Talk series featuring cutting edge research on current salmon conservation focused issues in the form of short talks that are presented through out the day. The festival kicks off with Coho Swim, an open water swim race with 1.5 and 3k options that is staged along the shores of Swa wi (Ambleside Park). Coho Festival is a Zero Waste Event using only organic, compostable and recyclable materials on site. The continued focus of the Coho Festival is the education on protection of fish and their environment. The Festival is also a fundraising event to assist North Shore stewardship groups efforts to rebuild, repair and maintain salmon and all the other related species and their habitats. It is an event where community gathers to celebrate the return of the salmon and offers many opportunities to learn a wide spectrum of salmon conservation strategies being developed around the North Shore and beyond.
