Community 'Cue BBQ Competition

Get ready to savor the smoke and celebrate community as the Old Town Spice Shop, Friendly Nick's Butcher, and New Belgium Brewing team up to host the inaugural Community ‘Cue BBQ Competition in 2025. This unique Pro-Am event promises to showcase the diverse world of BBQ while fostering collaboration and friendly competition between Fort Collins' most passionate pitmasters. The Community ‘Cue BBQ Competition will bring together backyard enthusiasts and professional chefs in a two-stage culinary showdown. Amateur cooks will compete in a semi-final round, with their skills judged by a panel of esteemed professionals. From this round, the professional chefs will be partnered with their amateur partners for the highly anticipated final competition. The public is invited to join the festivities at New Belgium Brewing on October 4th, 2025, from noon to 5pm. Attendees can enjoy live music, engaging culinary demonstrations, and much more. Pro/Am teams will offer samples of their competition BBQ and other delectable food items for just $5 per sample, allowing attendees to taste the incredible talent on display. Awards will be presented throughout the day in categories including Most Unique, People's Choice, Most Traditional, Professional Judge Panel, and Sides. The ultimate champions will be crowned with a prestigious championship belt and receive an array of prizes, including gift cards to local businesses like Old Town Spice Shop and Friendly Nick's Butcher, New Belgium Beer, and a guaranteed spot in next year's competition.
