Contra Dance! Social Folk Dance for All
Festival Details - "Contra Dance! Social Folk Dance for All"...
Start: Wednesday, November 15, 2023 7:00PM
End: Wednesday, November 15, 2023 9:30PM
Contra dance is a fun way to be active, have a night out, meet new people, and learn a traditional (and contemporary!) dance form. Contra dance is a type of community folk dance that developed in New England and Appalachia and draws from a wide variety of traditions, including English country dancing, African call-and-response, and 17th-century French dances. New dancers are very welcome to check out Bloomington's weekly contra dance.
No experience or partner needed! Dance caller Kyla Wargel will teach you everything you need to know and guide you through the dance moves throughout the night. Live old-time dance music will be performed by The Vexillations - Tom Yeiser (fiddle), Rob Fischman (guitar), David Ernst (tenor banjo).
- Doors open at 7 p.m. Beginner lesson at 7:10. Dancing 7:30-9:30.

- Sliding scale entrance fee (suggested $3-20)
- At Harmony School - 909 E 2nd St, Bloomington, IN 47401
