A Journey Across Five Continents in One Afternoon Shop Indigenous. Celebrate Arts & Culture. Support Resilience. The Cultural Survival Bazaar is celebrating over 50 years. This iconic festival of Indigenous arts and cultures invites you to meet world-class Indigenous makers and experience the enduring values of giving and reciprocity. The Cultural Survival Bazaar is a premier festival of Indigenous arts and culture that has connected the public with global artisans since 1975. Organized by the Indigenous-led nonprofit Cultural Survival, these bazaars provide a critical platform for artists, cooperatives, and community representatives from over 30countries to sell their work directly to you. Experience a vibrant global marketplace where every handmade treasure is a bridge to ancient traditions and a direct act of cultural resistance. Discover one-of-a-kind, time-honored art from over 30 countries spanning five continents. Whether you're looking for hand-woven textiles, intricate jewelry, or contemporary sculpture, every purchase directly supports Indigenous livelihoods and community-led projects worldwide. What to Expect: A Unique World-Class Marketplace: Shop one-of-a-kind jewelry, clothing, hand-knotted rugs, home goods, contemporary crafts and fine art directly from over 50 Indigenous artists and cooperatives. Live Cultural Performances: Immerse yourself in the sounds and movements of the world with live music performances, storytelling, and traditional dance from internationally renowned Indigenous artists. Hands-On Learning: Participate in craft-making demonstrations, workshops, and panel discussions on cultural sustainability. Authentic Flavors: Delight in the taste of traditional dishes, such as Northeast Indigenous cuisine from James Beard Award-winning Chef Sherry Pocknett. Direct Interaction: Meet the makers behind the art. Learn about "Indigenous cosmovisions" and the deep-rooted stories that make each item unique. Family-Friendly Learning: Enjoy craft-making demonstrations and dedicated children’s learning areas led by cultural educators like Annawon Weeden. Why It Matters Your participation goes beyond shopping; it is a commitment to fair trade and Indigenous rights. These events generate nearly $500,000 annually for Indigenous artists and community-led projects, supporting self-determination and the revitalization of millennia-old traditions. Doing this event and being able to share my work with Cultural Survival is another outlet for Indigenous Peoples to show their work and explain their culture to people. It’s the connection that shows people that this is what we do and how we live, and this is the beauty we create. And that’s something that I love about it,” says Phibert Begay (Diné/Navajo), silversmith.
