Deep Vellum Music & Literature Festival

Based in the Deep Ellum cultural district in Dallas, Texas, this festival will expand well beyond the Deep Vellum bookstore, engaging major cultural venues across the neighborhood to celebrate the area’s rich music history and its ongoing drive to uplift the arts. Our headliner event at Sons of Hermann Hall on July 11 features award-winning poet and essayist, Hanif Abdurraqib, and poet and singer-songwriter Jamila Woods, joined by Lawrence Burney and DAMOYEE. The festival kicks off at Ruins on Friday night, July 10 with performances by Cayuga All-Stars and Ceci Ceci, and a panel sponsored by the Southwest Review featuring voices of Latin American translation. Throughout the weekend, join us for morning readings of poetry and prose, paired with jazz and donuts (respectively); listen to conversations on ancient vampires and the human drive to wander the earth; attend a live podcast recording and a panel on how narratives in literature and media shape our perception of women athletes; support or community of Dallas poets and hangout in a reading lounge in an art gallery, hosted by art book publisher K.Co Press.
