Also on August 25, join us as Prairiewood welcomes the Flint Hills Band for the first time! Starting with a blues base, the band has numerous influences including R&B, jazz, rock, roots, folk, soul, and funk, the Flint Hills Band is musical diversity at its best. They write much of their own music but also cover tunes from the 1940s to the present, and are sure to have something special for everyone and something new for all. They will rock and roll you, soothe you, and move you. From fun to serious, ballads to rockers, FHB will have you tapping your toes and coming back for more. FHB is: Alex Cosco, lead vocalist with a smashing voice, a true force of nature; Aliyah Stephens, bass, vocals, and band cornerstone; Tony Scalora, guitar and vocals; Caleb Brown, drummer with a sweet touch and vocals; John Blair, guitar; and Walter Dodds, harmonicas and vocals. Suggested donation of $10 at the door, with all proceeds going directly to the musicians. *** Sundays at Prairiewood start at 4 p.m. Come out before the event to hike the trails, play cornhole on the lawn, browse art and artisan goods in Blue Sage Gallery, fly a kite, or grab a drink from the bar.
