THE EAST TEXAS CHILI COOK-OFF CONTEST
Beautiful Tribe hosts The East Texas Chili Cook-Off on November 18, 2023, downtown Gladewater for it's first annual street festival.
Raffle tickets (for a $250.00 Beautiful Tribe gift certificate) to raise funds for the Karli Bryant Scholarship Fund and will aid The Weldon Alumni Scholarships that benefit graduating high school students. Tickets can be purchased from Beautiful Tribe located at (211 E. Pacific Ave) or on the day of the event.
Additionally, Chad's Wings and Burgers (809 E.
Broadwav) and Aunt Sandra's Soul Food (212 E. MLK
Jr. Dr.) will raffle a ($350.00) Thanksgiving meal and provide proceeds to benefit families in need for Thanksgiving in conjunction with the nonprofit organization, Arula's Hope.
The street festival will take place from 10 AM - 4PM with entertainment provided by rock soul artist, Sandy Redd
Street vendors and potential chili cook-off contestants can contact Beautiful Tribe at for entry. Levels of Sponsorship are also available through Beautiful Tribe.
To purchase raffle tickets for the Thanksgiving Basket, stop by Chad's or Aunt Sandra's. Raffle tickets for all events can also be purchased on the dav of the event.
@Chad's Wing's and Burgers (809 E. Broadway,
Gladewater, TX (903) 374-2141) located on Hwy 80, boast the best burgers in East Texas (including the Tuesday mushroom burger) and operates Tuesday-Saturday 11-7pm. Sunday bar-b-que is 11-4pm.
Aunt Sandra's Soul Food (212 E. MLK Jr. Dr., Gladewater, TX, (832) 341 4678) offers the realm for the soul food palate and operates Wednesday- Saturday from
11-4pm. Sunday's home cooked meals are especially delicious from 12-3pm.
Sandy Redd is a powerhouse singer, songwriter, actress from Chicago who has performed worldwide. She is the first female to ever play the role of Judas in the national Broadway tour of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. On the 15th season of The Voice, with a 4 chair turn, her performance has been deemed as one of the most memorable and viewed in Voice history.
We are also excited to announce another phenomenal soulful gospel singer, songwriter added to the lineup Branisha McCowan. She will our opening artist for the show performing with her uniquely creative soulful voice.
The Karli Bryant Scholarship Fund is in honor of the late Queen Warrior, Marisa Ward , an advocate for all causes who especially wanted to make sure underserved youth had financial support to start their journey after high school in whatever educational path they chose. She especially wanted her granddaughter, Karli, to be successful.
