“Eat Your Heart Out,” one of Fort Lauderdale’s most beloved foodie events, featuring incredible flavors, fresh libations and a powerful mission returns to Galleria Fort Lauderdale on September 25, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.! Presented by BBI, this event benefits the Heart Gallery of Broward County, an esteemed nonprofit dedicated to promoting adoption and enrichment programs for Broward’s foster youth. Tickets are on sale now. This year’s participating restaurants and spirits include The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Kaluz, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Tasteful Thoughts, P.F. Chang’s, il Mulino, Sicilian Oven, Aquaplex Fort Lauderdale, Spice n’ Vybe, Todd's Catering, Dom Caruso’s Cucina, South Bar and Kitchen, Southport Raw Bar, Sweeter Days Bake Shop, Red Chair Catering and Gulf Stream Distillery. More restaurants will be announced leading up to the event. In addition to the assortment of gourmet bites and sips, the evening will feature live entertainment, a Dillard’s pop-up shop and a silent auction with unique experiences and luxury prizes including jewelry from Daoud’s Fine Jewelry. The event includes a special presentation, hosted by WPLG Local 10’s Eric Yutzy, to Christine Frederick, CEO of The Lord’s Place, named this year’s Child Advocate of the Year. Frederick’s experience includes more than 20 years of progressive leadership in nonprofit and social impact organizations, including serving for eight years as the CEO of FLITE Center, an organization that offers comprehensive access to services for youth aging out of foster care. Prior to FLITE Center, she spent 12 years both on the frontlines and on the executive management team as the chief program officer of HANDY. She is the recipient of Inspiring Women of Health (2024); Apogee Award for Nonprofit Leadership (2021); Hispanic Woman of Distinction (2018); and 100 Successful Women in Business (2018). Past Child Advocate of the Year honorees have included Cindy Arenberg Seltzer, Michael Goodman, Andrew Koenig, Chad Moss and others. The Heart Gallery of Broward County launched in 2007 as a traveling photography exhibit of foster youth awaiting adoption and has since evolved to provide innovative programs that recruit adoptive families, enrich foster youth lives, and support adoptive families through community partnerships. This event is the organization’s largest and most successful fundraiser. Event sponsors include presenting sponsor BBI, Galleria Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas Capital Advisors, Advanced Roofing, Banesco, OutClique, Brizaga, Danto Builders, Walter Duke + Partners, City & Shore magazine, BMK Media, O Lounge Las Olas, GPR | Goodman Public Relations and Local 10 News.
