Our rural town of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, is hosting a major gathering in celebration of our most famous citizen, Eliot Ness. While Ness has been celebrated on film and stage for bringing down the infamous mob boss Al Capone, his more interesting and lasting accomplishments are not nearly as well-known. “Eliot Ness Fest: Touched by the Untouchable” will have plenty of great beer on tap (lagers and maybe an IPA or two), “Meet the Real Eliot Ness” and “Pasta With Capone” gatherings, a spotlight on law enforcement by the ATF and others, a vintage car show (1920-1931) like no other, dinner theater, a Roaring ‘20s speakeasy costume contest, fascinating programs presented by prominent authors, street theater, live music, an appearance by the grandson of one of Eliot Ness’s “Untouchables” from the Chicago gangbuster days, and several other attractions. We encourage those attending to dress from the era. There is something for everyone and anyone! Eliot Ness Fest will take place Friday, July 20-22, 2018.
