Ensemble Laude presents Wings

Wings is a presentation of music all about birds – the creatures themselves, but also what they inspire in us, and in our imagination. Included are pieces by Katerina Gimon, Sarah Quartel, Maurice Ravel, Palestinian-American composer Maryam Khoury, Ro Ogura from Japan, and the Wailin’ Jennys. The first part of the program will take us across a single day – different birds will appear at the times that we would normally see them, underscoring the connection between the activity of birds and the movements of the natural world. In the final section of the program, we sing more generally about flying, flight, and the aspirations to be uplifted, released, and free... as a bird.
