Eupora Chainsaws & Art Festival

The Eupora Chainsaws & Art Festival which is a wood carving competition, auction, and educational event. It’s the only one of its kind in the State of Mississippi. The FREE event sees professional wood carvers from several states competing over a four (4) day period to create sculptures of their own creative design and chainsaw. Watching often sublime works of are emerge from raw logs with the pass of a roaring chainsaw fascinates and delights spectators of all ages. Attendees at a safe distance get to see beautiful art as it’s created, meet and chat with the chainsaw artist. Throughout the four (4) day event (Wednesday 8/9/23 to Saturday 8/12/23) attendees can sit at a safe distance to witness the creativity as skills chainsaw carvers transform plain logs of wood into amazing pieces of art. The masterpiece sculptures created by each chainsaw carver over the four (4) day period will remain with the community, be given a project name, and placed all around the City of Eupora so that each sculpture can be visited and admired by all of the City’s residents as well as tourists. There will be public voting on all of the masterpiece sculptures for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Carver’s The “Wood Magic Science Fair” Exhibit will be on-site specifically aimed at elementary school students which educates about the tremendous importance of wood and wood products to each of us individually and to the economy. This exhibit helps children learn about the forest industry and certainly will connect the value of wood to what artistry can be accomplished through the use of a chainsaw.
