Pringle Nature Center will be hosting the annual Fall Fun Fest and World Migratory Bird Day from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, September 16th, in collaboration with the Kenosha County Parks, Kenosha County, the Hoy Audubon Society, and Access Ability Wisconsin. Pringle Nature Center is located at 9800 160th Avenue, Bristol, WI 53104.
This year’s annual “Fall Fun Fest” will feature all the nature activities that families love, plus a ribbon cutting ceremony for the all-terrain wheelchair hosted at Pringle Nature Center (PNC) as part of a new partnership with Access Ability Wisconsin (AAW), and a raffle benefiting the “Adopt a Class” field trip scholarship fund. The annual Fall Fun Festival and World Migratory Bird Day, or “Fall Fun Fest,” is PNC’s largest annual fundraiser. The event includes local “green” exhibitors and businesses, live animal demonstrations, food trucks, and nature activities and crafts. Entry is free, but select activities will require tickets which can be purchased at the event. Proceeds from activities benefit environmental education programming at Pringle Nature Center. Please bring cash or check, as no ATM is available on-site. Food trucks will also take cash. This event is sponsored by Pringle Nature Center, the Kenosha County Parks, Kenosha County, the Hoy Audubon Society, and Access Ability Wisconsin. For more information and an updated schedule of activities, visit www.pringlenc.org/fff.
As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pringle Nature Center, we are focusing on increasing access to the outdoors for all members of our community. PNC in Kenosha County is proud to be an Access Ability Wisconsin Network Partner, providing outdoors access for individuals with mobility challenges. Through this partnership between AAW and PNC, PNC is facilitating AAW’s hosting program for one of the 27 units in AAW’s fleet of outdoor wheelchairs (OWCs) with enclosed trailers, available at no cost to individuals with a refundable $50 deposit and returned completed survey. OWCs are like hiking boots–they go where regular wheelchairs can’t go, including the trails of parks in Kenosha County. Visitors are welcome to learn more about AAW’s resources, and try out an OWC any time during the event, 11 am-3 pm. Individuals are asked to complete a safety waiver before use, and to please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if interested in using an OWC during the event.
Pringle Nature Center is also proud to announce the “Adopt a Class” field trip scholarship fund, which enables underserved schools to take nature field trips. More than a dozen great prizes from local businesses and sports teams will be available in a raffle taking place during Fall Fun Fest. Please see www.pringlenc.org/fff for a list of prizes. Raffle tickets are available for purchase only during the event (11 am-3 pm).
