Food Trucks & More, Remsen Community Event, September 10

Food trucks and more will be set up at the Remsen Train Depot to create awareness of community organizations and vendors from throughout the area. This fundraiser is sponsored by the team Penguin Platoon to support Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Proceeds help fund American Cancer Society research as well as free patient services like the 24/7 Help Line (1-800-227-2345) and overnight stays at Hope Lodge. Stathis Greek, Brake from the Grind, and The Good Life Ice Cream trucks are scheduled to be on site from 3 until 7pm. The Depot will be open and has a small gift shop for your train enthusiasts. Outside will be a variety of organizations and vendors including Pat's Homemade Breads, River Bend Apiary, Plank Road Petals, Remsen Clay Target Club, Remsen United Methodist Church, Trenton Chamber of Commerce, Scentsy, Chiari Cares advocacy, Mean Muggin' tumblers and more, Christine's Beeswax Candles, Heart & Sole Dance Studio, Handmade baskets made from clothesline rope, and Remsen Steuben Historical Society. The list keeps growing! Bring your bottles and cans and drop off to the church group who will be collecting on site. The Penguin Platoon will be selling raffle tickets for a Ferris commercial mower donated by Clinton Tractor, and Boscov Shopping Passes for use on October 22. Their table will also have literature on breast cancer awareness and other cancer screening services. You can also ask about walking with the team at this year's Strides Walk, taking place in Utica on October 27. The Platoon has been fundraising since 2016 and would love to have others join their cause. The event is free, stop by and pick up dinner and say hello to the vendors. There are some picnic tables and you're welcome to bring a chair and stay a while. Find out what's available in your community and make a difference in the fight against cancer.
