Free Concert - Slideways Quartet

Live in Lompoc kicks off Season 24-25 with a free outdoor concert featuring Santa Barbara Slideways Quartet on Sept. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. outside First United Methodist Church, 925 North F Street, on the lawn area. The concert will be an event for family and friends to spend an afternoon together enjoying great music and delicious food. Food trucks Sassafras and The Birria Boyz will be on location, so bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy a Sunday afternoon filled with music. Food trucks arrive at 1 pm, introduction begins at 1:45 pm and the concert kicks off at 2 pm. “Lompoc Concert Association is reinvigorating its musical lineup for the season,” said Judy Carpenter. “I’ve been a member of Lompoc Concert Association since the mid 80s and we have enjoyed bringing live music from all over the world to the area. This Season we’re expanding our lineup with a variety of music that we are sure our Lompoc community will enjoy.” The kickoff begins with a group from the Santa Barbara Trombone Society, the Slideways Quartet, putting together a fun ensemble of jazz and pop that is sure to entertain the community. The Fall Season opens Oct. 4 with Tres Souls, a Los Angeles Bolero Ensemble, followed by Natural Woman: a tribute to Carole King Oct. 26, the Moanin’ Frogs, a Saxophone Sexet on Jan. 25 and closing the season with Yu & I, a Violin and Guitar duet on March 15. “Here in Lompoc the LCA Board has done an excellent job of booking distinctive, memorable musical ensembles for 78 years of community concerts,” said Larry Li, LCA President. “We hope to continue to do so with diverse genres for our community to enjoy. We are excited to host Slideways Quartet in Lompoc to kickoff our Season and enjoy their ensemble of jazz, pop and movie classic tunes.” Come on out on Sunday, Sept. 15 to enjoy an afternoon of free musical entertainment with family and friends.
