The Heritage Museum of Asian Art (HMAA), in collaboration with the Abrahamic Center for Cultural Education, proudly presents an evening of cross-cultural exploration and artistic expression. As part of the Bridgeport Art Walk, this special event offers a unique opportunity for the community to engage with art, history, and live performance in a meaningful way. Free and open to all, the evening will begin at 6:00 PM with a guided tour of the museum, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the rich narratives of Asian artistic traditions. At 7:00 PM, internationally acclaimed musician and performer Karim Nagi will take the stage, bringing a dynamic fusion of traditional and contemporary rhythms that transcend cultural boundaries. HMAA is dedicated to bridging traditional practices with contemporary interpretations, providing a platform for the promotion and appreciation of Asian art and culture. Through this partnership with the Abrahamic Center for Cultural Education, we celebrate the power of artistic exchange in fostering deeper understanding and connection. Join us for an unforgettable evening where history, performance, and community converge. Karim Nagi is an Egyptian-born musician, dancer, and educator dedicated to preserving and sharing Arabic music and dance traditions. A master percussionist and folk dancer, he blends traditional and contemporary styles, performing internationally and teaching at institutions like Harvard and MIT. Through his "Arabiqa" program, he introduces Arabic culture to diverse audiences, fostering cross-cultural understanding. As the founder of the Sharq Arabic Music Ensemble, he continues to celebrate and promote the richness of Arabic artistic heritage through performance, education, and cultural advocacy. Accessibility The Heritage Museum of Asian Art's Entrance is on West 35th Street. Take the elevator to the third floor and turn right to the Museum Reception Desk. Accessible and standard toilets are located on the same floor. Free parking space is available next to the museum via West 35th Street.
