Global Winter Wonderland Returns to Sacramento for Fifth Year
Annual Holiday Light Show Introduces New Features and Brings Back Popular Attractions
(Sacramento, Calif.) – Global Winter Wonderland, a spectacular holiday festival and multi-cultural celebration, will return to Cal Expo for its fifth year on November 24th. The popular event, which has become a holiday tradition for families throughout Northern California, will bring its giant illuminated lanterns back to Sacramento, along with food, hand-made crafts and holiday gifts, thrilling rides and family-friendly entertainment. Global Winter Wonderland, which runs from Nov. 24 through Jan. 6, will span 17 acres at Cal Expo.
Built by a team of Chinese engineers onsite, the large, colorful lantern structures are stunning in their height and detail, ranging from 9 feet to 72 feet. At night, lights further enhance their magnificence. In addition to the popular staples, this year’s festival will bring new attractions, including the Ultimate Laser Adventure, an indoor laser tag venue, and Circus of Light, a Chinese circus with live performances by acrobats and other entertainers. Many popular lanterns will return, including Santa’s Village and Polar Village, where visitors can meet characters such as Santa, elves and Penny Penguin, the Global Winter Wonderland mascot. In addition, new lanterns will be exhibited, including a Twelve Days of Christmas display, featuring beautiful installations highlighting the popular holiday song. Along with the classic carnival rides, magical lanterns and holiday entertainment, there will be numerous featured food and hand-made crafts and holiday gifts, thrilling rides and family-friendly entertainment.
