Festival Details - "Goldfrapp"...

Ooh la la: the multi-platinum selling band mark the anniversary of Felt Mountain.

Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory formed Goldfrapp in 1999 and released the Mercury Prize-nominated album in 2000.

Since that time, they have released a further five studio albums, most recently Silver Eye in 2017, and scored a string of hits including 'Strict Machine', 'Ooh La La', 'Lovely Head' and 'A&E'.

The band have been nominated for several Grammy and Brit Awards and won an Ivor Novello for 'Strict Machine'.

Goldfrapp have also scored the soundtracks to the films My Summer of Love and Nowhere Boy and wrote the music for the National Theater’s production of Medea, directed by Carrie Cracknell, in 2014.

2020 marks the 20th anniversary of Felt Mountain. To celebrate, the band embarks on a tour across the UK with an evening that crosses the soft strata of this seminal album and beyond.

The band is joined by special guests, to be announced.

Outside Goldfrapp, Will Gregory has performed with artists including Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel, The Cure, Portishead and Tori Amos.

His first opera, Piccard in Space premiered at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2011.

Gregory wrote part of the score for the National Theatre of Scotland's James III trilogy in 2016 and more recently wrote the music for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s new production of King John.

Gregory is currently scoring the upcoming TV series Serengeti, executive produced by Simon Fuller, as well as The Nature Of Why with the British Paraorchestra at the Bristol Old Vic.

He performed a Bach-focused rework as part of the MOOG Ensemble this summer at LSO St Luke's in London as well as an original piece alongside Martyn Ware and Adrian Utley at the Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg later that month.

Alison Goldfrapp began her musical career performing with dance company Catherine Massin throughout the Netherlands during her early twenties.

Afterwards, she attended Middlesex University where she studied fine art and started creating live performance pieces.

In recent years she has embarked on a successful photography and directorial career, shooting both the album artwork for Goldfrapp’s Silver Eye and directing the videos for ‘Systemagic’, ‘Everything Is Never Enough’ and ‘Ocean’.
