Golu 2026: The Ten Avatars- Marigold Mandalas

West Windsor Arts warmly invites the community to experience Golu 2026: The Ten Avatars of Vishnu, a celebration of art, culture, music, and community inspired by the South Indian festival of Navratri.

Navratri, the nine-day festival honoring the Divine Feminine, is one of South India’s most cherished traditions. During the festival, families create beautifully arranged displays of dolls, sculptures, and treasured heirlooms known as Golu. Friends, neighbors, and visitors travel from home to home to admire the displays, share traditional songs, and celebrate together. One of the most welcoming aspects of Golu is that everyone is encouraged to perform, whether formally trained or simply eager to participate.

This year, West Windsor Arts is proud to once again present a community Golu that celebrates both tradition and the diversity of our region. Curated by Padmaja Ganapathy, (President, Board of Trustees)  this year’s exhibit explores The Ten Avatars of Vishnu (Dashavatara) through a visually engaging display that blends storytelling, art, and culture.

The event is made possible through the creativity and dedication of numerous volunteers, including the Kolam Team, Reception Committee, and Performing Arts volunteers, whose contributions help create a memorable experience for visitors of all ages.

Golu 2026 also serves as a fundraiser supporting the arts and educational programs of West Windsor Arts. New sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals and businesses wishing to support this signature cultural event while gaining visibility within the community.
