Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival

This event begins with "An Evening of Poetry", hosted by Huggy Bear Da Poet and featuring celebrity poet, International Poet Master Piece. Poets have an opportunity to earn prizes by submitting written pieces and being present the day of the event. Poetry night is open mic to all lyricists in the area. Friday's Hosea London Jazz Music and Education Gala presents concerts with performances by The Marcus Johnson Summer Jazz Camp and Andrew Ayers and Friends. Saturday's Jazz in the City features Roman Street, Mobile Big Band and jazz legend, Fred Wesley, while Tonya Boyd-Cannon with Keep it Live end the evening. GCEH concludes Sunday with a second-line performance my Mobile's own iconic Excelsior Band, followed by Alvin King and the Fifth K'nection, Jukebox Brass Band and Gino Rosaria.
