A Special Event At Pennoyer Park Bandshell to raise awareness and funds for The Education Foundation Of Kenosha and Kenosha COR – Coalition Organizing Resolution. Kenosha Harmony Fest is free to the public but also on a “pay what you can” platform that will bring people of different walks of life together to enjoy fantastic music, food and fun on beautiful Lake Michigan! Various community organizations will be invited to inform the public about the resources that are available to help make Kenosha a happy place to live. Lets bring peace and harmony back to Kenosha! 100% of proceeds will go to local charities! The headlining band for the event is Shamarr Allen and The Underdawgs. Performing at this year’s Summerfest, Shamarr will make a special appearance in Kenosha! Shamarr is the definition of New Orleans! Allen has influences in jazz, hip-hop, rock, funk rhythms, blues and country. He is the lead vocalist and trumpeter of the band. Allen has collaborated with many renowned artists around the world such as Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, Galatic, Harrick Connick Jr, and Lenny Kravitz, to name a few. He is a sought after artist for festivals and venues around the world. In addition to displaying his skills on the front-line as a lead performer, He’s also a music composer, writer, and producer. With a scintillating and unique sound, look, and exemplary talents, Shamarr transcends musical boundaries. In the City of New Orleans, Shamarr is a role model and pioneer of “Trumpet Is My Weapon” – a gun-for-trumpet exchange program — where at risk kids can turn in guns to police in exchange for a trumpet. This program snowballed with great support from the New Orleans music community where thousands of dollars and instruments have been donated to help keep guns off the street.
