Heritage Day and Wood Kiln Opening at Bolick and Traditions Pottery

Bolick and Traditions Pottery are 5th and 6th generation potters from Seagrove, NC. Bolick Pottery was started in 1973 near Blowing Rock, NC by Glenn and Lula Bolick. They trained under Lula's father, M.L. Owens of Original Owens Pottery. In 1992, their daughter Janet and husband Michael Calhoun started Traditions Pottery. Together they host this annual event. Wheel thrown facejugs, pitchers, vases, swirl items, hand built pottery and more will be unloaded from the wood kiln at 10am. The sales cabin will be stocked with more pottery including mugs, bowls, and serving items. Live bluegrass, gospel, and Appalachian music all day with the Dollar Brothers, Rusty Key Ramblers, and Glenn Bolick and Friends. Food from 11-2 with Hot Diggidy Dog of Boone. Handmade baskets, by JoAnn Miller, and other arts and crafts. No alcohol permitted on the premises. No dogs please. Bring a chair and enjoy this event nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
