High Five: Exploring the Elemental Forces of Chinatown

Get into your element! Edge on the Square presents High Five: Exploring the Elemental Forces of Chinatown, its 3rd Annual Contemporary Art Festival on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 3:00-10:00 PM. This year's theme centers on the five elements: Earth?, Fire?, Metal?, Water?, and Air?, and invites us to contemplate, explore, and engage with Chinatown through the prism of these fundamental forces. Five Chinatown alleyways and streets will represent an element that is interpreted by artists in their activations: Earth? | Grant Avenue Fire? | Waverly Place Metal? | Ross Alley Water? | Wentworth Place Air? | Joice Street The one-day event will spotlight API artists and their multimedia artworks throughout the neighborhood. Alongside cultural partners, arts organizations, local restaurants and vendors, and community residents, a collective voice will amplify unity and sing solidarity all over the streets of our beloved Chinatown with original art experiences, ephemeral installations, family-friendly activities, creative performances, panel conversations, culinary delights, interactive exhibitions and much more.
