Rising musician Jeff Buckley had only released one album (which was recorded in Woodstock) when he died suddenly in 1997. Now, never-before-seen footage, exclusive voice messages, and accounts from those closest to him offer a portrait of the captivating singer. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, this film takes a deep dive into the artistic spirit that made Buckley’s one-in-a-generation voice and boundary-pushing artistry resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit The Institute for Animal Happiness, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit animal rescue and vegan organization founded by Rebecca Moore, a longtime animal rights activist featured in the film. Buckley's love for animals was well-known amongst his friends, and a part of IFAH's mission will always be dedicated to honoring that, and his personal evolution on animals and their sentience.
