LICH GATE CONCERTS cordially invites you to an afternoon of chamber music at Christ Trinity Church, Sheffield. In celebration of AMERICA’S 250^TH ANNIVERSARY, Artistic Director Jorge Ávila has curated a brilliant program, the core of which features movements from works for String Quartet by 19^th- and 20^th-century American composers, CHARLES IVES, SAMUEL BARBER, and FLORENCE PRICE. These are bookended by European composers from the Classical and Romantic periods, including JOSEPH HAYDN’s String Quartet in G Major, Op. 15 and ALEXANDER BORODIN’s String Quartet in D Major.

Our New York-based artists include Artistic Director JORGE ÀVILA, Violin I; RACHEL HANDMAN, Violin II; ORLANDO WELLS, Viola; and SARAH HEWITT-ROTH, Cello.
