This year, the Lincoln Square Holiday Tree is back in Dante Park between Broadway and Columbus Avenue at 63rd and 64th Streets. The tree, a Fraser Fir from Bliss, NY, was installed by the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation and features unique ornaments from Color Me Mine, our local pottery studio, and thousands of LED lights.
The tree lighting ceremony will feature free performances from CHIA's Dance Party and the Department of Spectacle.
CHIA’s Dance Party, led by Martin Vejarano and his Brass Quintet, performs original material, inspired by the Colombian marching band traditions, as well as some tropical standards that would lift you up. Tanya Turgeon and her team of merry performers at the Department of Spectacle will deliver the gift of smiles to audiences of all ages with juggling, cheer, and interactive comedy.
The tree lighting presented by the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District will kick off a series of free performances, musical activations and experiences all holiday season long through Lights Up on Lincoln Square. More details will be announced shortly.
