Join us Thursday, September 21st, from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Purpoodock Club for a discussion of the geopolitics behind Saudi Arabia's foray into professional golf. Is this an effort to diversify an oil rich economy, burnish the country's reputation, or assert itself on a global stage? Is it an effective avenue for economic and political influence, and what does it mean for other global institutions? Hear about these questions and more from Prof. Stephen Walt of the Harvard Kennedy School and Foreign Policy Magazine.
Tickets are $30 for members of the World Affairs Council of Maine and the Purpoodock Club and $35 for the general public. Tickets include reception before the lecture.
