Conway Hall’s historic Sunday Concerts series is presenting its 2020 Autumn Season as a series of live online performances via Youtube Live, using state of the art live-stream equipment to give you the very best in audio and visual quality.

The Greenwich Trio has been described by Bernard Greenhouse as the “New Beaux Arts Trio.” It was formed in 2006 originally with cellist Stjepan Hauser. For the 2020 and 2021 seasons, the trio is embarking on a recording of the complete Brahms Trios at the Menuhin Hall. Its programme at Conway Hall will include two of these trios, originally featuring horn and clarinet but in Brahms’s own versions for the more common combination of violin, cello and piano.

The recital by the Greenwich Trio will be preceded by a short performance from Elizaveta Lessoun (18), who recently was the winner of The Susanne Beer Cello Corner Foundation competition. She will play Massenet’s Elégie Op 10/5 and Karl Davydof’s At the Fountain.

Greenwich Trio

The Greenwich Trio has won a number of prizes in the UK, Belgium and Italy including the Solti Foundation and Tunnell Trust Awards, and the first prize of the Beethoven Society of Europe Chamber Music Competition.

It has performed at renowned international festivals including Festival International de Santander, Rheingau Musik Festival, Festival Ljubljana, Festival Estoril, Cheltenham Music Festival, Rye Arts Festival, Chipping Campden, Bath Festival and has performed L. van Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with conductor Barry Wordsworth. Notable venues include a debut in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw in 2009 and a performance during the opening festival of London’s Kings Place in 2008. Tne Trio has also performed a series of concerts in Royal Palaces in Madrid under 'Patrimonio Nacional' represented by the Royal Family of Spain. The Greenwich Trio released recordings of Beethoven and Mendelssohn piano trios under Meridian Records and Shostakovich Piano Trios independently.

About our Sunday Concerts

Founded in the 1880s, our chamber music concert series is the longest-running of its kind in Europe. Conway Hall was purpose-built in 1929 to host concerts and lectures, and they have continued here until the present day. The ethos of “affordable classical music for all” still remains.

Under 26 year olds can attend our concerts for free, thanks to support from the Cavatina Chamber Music Trust.

** This performance will be live-streamed online using YouTube Live. A link to join the concert will be sent to ticketholders on the day of the event. **
