The world-renowned Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod returns from 8 to 13 July 2025, transforming the beautiful town of Llangollen into a global stage for music, dance, and cultural unity. Now in its 77th year, this extraordinary event brings together thousands of performers and visitors to celebrate peace and international friendship through the performing arts.
A Week of World-Class Competition
Over six days, the Pavilion will host more than 4,000 competitors from across the globe. These include choirs, folk dance troupes, solo singers, orchestras, instrumentalists, and performance groups—all competing across a wide range of categories.
Competitions will take place daily inside the Royal International Pavilion, with highlights including:
Choir of the World: the prestigious finale that crowns the top international choir.
Dance Champions of the World: showcasing traditional and contemporary dance from across continents.
Solo Vocal & Instrumental Classes: spotlighting individual talent.
Children’s Day (9 July): a spectacular day focused on youth performance and cultural learning.
Alongside the formal competitions, there will be informal performances, pop-up shows, and public workshops taking place throughout the festival site, welcoming participation from people of all ages and backgrounds.
Evening Concert Programme
The Eisteddfod’s evening concerts are among the most anticipated cultural events in the Welsh calendar. In 2025, the programme brings together a mix of classical, contemporary, and global talent in a stunning series of headline events:
Tuesday, 8 July – Beyond Time: The Music of Hans Zimmer
A live orchestral journey through Hans Zimmer’s greatest film scores.
Wednesday, 9 July – Uniting Nations: One World
Conducted by Sir Karl Jenkins, this special concert celebrates the 80th anniversary of the United Nations with a reimagining of Peace Child and music from Jenkins’ One World.
Thursday, 10 July – KT Tunstall with the Absolute Orchestra
The Scottish singer-songwriter performs a unique orchestral show to mark 20 years of her hit album Eye to the Telescope.
Friday, 11 July – Il Divo
The internationally acclaimed classical crossover quartet makes their Llangollen debut in a spectacular headline show.
Saturday, 12 July – Choir of the World & Dance Champions Grand Finale
A celebration of the week’s top talent with a special guest performance from Welsh star Lucie Jones.
Sunday, 13 July – Gala Concert
Featuring legendary bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, Fisherman’s Friends, Eve Goodman, and the Pendine International Voice of the Future Final.

Festival Field & Family Fun
Outside the Pavilion, the festival field will be buzzing with activity all week long. Open daily, the Festival Village is the perfect place for families, cultural enthusiasts, and first-time visitors to experience the spirit of the Eisteddfod.

Folk & World Music Stages – showcasing music and dance from around the globe.
Craft & Artisan Market – with handmade goods, local produce, and cultural stalls.
Food & Drink – street food, global cuisine, and traditional Welsh favourites.
Kids Zone – workshops, circus skills, and creative play for children.
Community Performances – informal stages for local and visiting groups to perform throughout the day.
The Parade of Nations, taking place on Wednesday 9 July, is a visual highlight. It sees performers from around the world march through the town in full traditional dress—an uplifting celebration of unity and cultural pride.
