Loudoun Appalachian Trail Festival

Enjoy live music, listen to hiking experts, "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" at our art show, find a new place to hike, try your hand at nature crafts, climb a rock wall, ride a pony—and more. Bands include: Furnace Mountain Trio, Melissa and the Moth Men, Lillian Hackett and Karma Creek. Talks on day hikes, thru hiking and A.T. history. We'll also have vendors, a used gear sale, food trucks and beverage sales. There's literally something for everyone at this free, family-friendly event. In addition to music and hands-on activities the festival is an opportunity for the DC community to learn about the programs of amazing organizations working to get people outdoors as we preserve the natural beauty around us. Joining us at the festival with displays and representatives will be: the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, Sierra Club, Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, Friends of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Sweet Run and Sky Meadows state parks, Blue Ridge PRISM, Old Dominion Land Conservancy, Virginia Master Naturalists, A.T. Museum, American Chestnut Foundation, LoCo Happy Trails, Washington Women Outdoors, Potomac Heritage Trail Association—and more. (Optional: Bring some "trail magic" (snacks, small supplies) for the thru hikers passing through our area. And you can meet some of them at the festival!)
