The annual Lumière Festival returns to Vancouver from November 13 to 16, 2025, illuminating the city with light, art, and community spirit under this year’s theme, “Unity.” This free, family-friendly event invites visitors to explore a series of light-based installations and experiences across the West End, Downtown Vancouver, and Gastown. Each location will showcase a unique atmosphere and artistic vision that celebrates togetherness, creativity, and cultural connection. “In a time when the world can often feel divided, the Lumière Festival is about connection, collaboration, and shared experiences,” says Shelley Hayashi, Board President of Lumière Festival. Unlike previous years, the 2025 edition will not include an official opening ceremony, allowing organizers to focus on delivering impactful installations and programming throughout the city’s core. Despite a scaled-back format due to changing sponsor budgets, the festival continues its mission to bring warmth, joy, and light to Vancouver’s winter nights.
