MAHU MIX AND HONOLULU HORROR NIGHTS PRESENT: THEY SLASH THEM
Mahu Mix (MM) and Honolulu Horror Nights (HNN), two queer organizations on O’ahu, are teaming up for a Halloween Pride event that combines the exhilarating atmosphere of HHN, a queer-led non-profit dedicated to screening art-house and international horror films for the community, and the vibrant energy of MM, a queer-led organization that creates safe spaces for music, dance, and expression for Mahu and other queer Pasifika folks. Our vision is to create a kaleidoscope of queer joy and artistic expression this October, bringing together diverse audiences and fostering a sense of belonging and celebration within the LGBTQ+ community.
We aim to cater to the diverse Hawaiian and Pacific Islander queer people, MVPFAFF+ members, and LGBTQ+ communities by providing a space where they can connect, thrive, and revel in each other's company in a night full of art, music, dance, and celebration. In a world that often demands survival, we deserve the opportunity to not just survive, but to thrive and enjoy, this Pride Month and Halloween. Just like Pride Month, Halloween is a holiday that has allowed queer people to authentically express themselves for hundreds of years, making this collaboration powerful and relevant. Come be spooky and queer with us!
