Midway Spring Showcase Festival and Resource Fair

Bring your tents and lawn chairs to spend the day in one of the historical African American communities in Midway. This family-friendly event will feature free food, live music, storytelling, games and activities for children. The following free resources will be provided: breast mammogram screenings, health checks by Novant, Senior Services, Piedmont Triad Regional Council, Minority Diabetes Prevention Program, at-home services, mental health services, D.A.R.E, and veterans services, and many others. Have a taste for nostalgia? We are bringing back the "old candy store" and other sweet and savory treats. Come clap your hands to old-fashioned gospel singing, dance to the music of live DJs, and enjoy performances by local sororities and fraternities. Want to be empowered for the next elections? The Connection and Social Action Committee of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc ®-Omicron Psi Omega Chapter will host educational sessions and activities on voter rights. #OurVoicesMatter #VoterEducation #BeVoteReady #AKA1908 All (Davidson County and all surrounding areas) are welcome to come have a great time at this free community event.
