MIKIZTLI: Dia de los Muertos, Phoenix’s largest Dia de los Muertos festival, celebrates its 11th year on Sunday, October 30 rom 2 to 7 p.m. at Steele Indian School Park. Presented by Cultural Coalition, MIKIZTLI is different from other more commercialized Dia de los Muertos events. Known in the Valley as a truly authentic cultural celebration, MIKIZTLI centers its festival activities and offerings around ceremony, reflection, and the original connection of the holiday to the indigenous cultures throughout the Americas. Bring the whole family to dance to live music, enjoy cultural performances, make fun arts and crafts projects, eat delicious food, and shop local art vendors.
