Mistrust is the stage name of Tim Blackburn, a UK-based electronic pop artist from Bolton, England. His songs are influenced by the catchy melodies and hooks of ABBA, and the sounds of 1970s and 1980s electronic bands like Kraftwerk, OMD, and The Human League.
He is a regular performer on the North West music scene, appearing at major events and venues such as Primal Live at Camp and Furness, and the Future Showcase at Future Yard in Birkenhead. His clever use of video projection acts a backdrop to his lively stage performances.
Mistrust recently performed live at Molly's Chambers in Birkenhead, supporting ULTRA:Foxx, the Ultravox and John Foxx tribute band, and will be appearing at the Big Condo Records Weekender at Kazimier Stockroom in Liverpool in June 2025.
"Yellow and Grey" is the second single from Mistrust's album "Sunlight" and is a farewell to the old electric trains on Merseyrail. It has proved a hit with audiences with its catchy hook and memorable Youtube video.
The album itself was inspired by the historic village of Port Sunlight in Wirral.
