PRESENTATION OF THE FESTIVAL : Held for the first time in 2000, the MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE Festival offers Montrealers and visitors hundreds of activities to enjoy each year. Since the first edition, more than 650 guests from the culinary world of more than 20 countries have come to the event over the years to discover the best that Quebec gastronomy has to offer: its chefs, producers, artisans and culinary culture. The MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE Festival offers a host of free activities to everyone in the Quartier des Spectacles as well as the Place des festivals, which becomes the festive heart of downtown; not to mention the Nuit blanche, which attracts thousands of night owls. Here is an overview of the main activities for the 2023 edition: Gastronomic program The gastronomic program of MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE Festival will be a real treat! The Quartier Gourmand will satisfy the curiosity of festival-goers through meetings, workshops, demos and other tasty activities. In a spirit of sharing, discovery and exchange on cuisine, and to open up culinary horizons, the Bonnes Tables Air France is pairing up chefs, winemakers and producers from here and abroad to assemble a menu to their image. The Couette et Gastronomie concept consists of associations between hotelkeepers and restaurateurs so that festival-goers can enjoy a unique gastronomic experience in the comfort of their room or the hotel restaurant if they prefer. The Scotia Bank Skating Loop The unique Scotia Bank Skating Loop installed on the Place des Festivals was the star activity of the 2022 edition and it's back this year! Last year, this impressive aerial course of more than 300 meters in length delighted nearly 25,000 skaters who strolled to the rhythm of a varied musical program! The famous Nuit blanche Back again this year, the Nuit Blanche de Montréal will please the night owls! As usual, you'll find plenty of cultural activities on the island, both indoors and outdoors. Don't miss it on February 25th as it's the 20th edition! This night is shaping up to be celebrated in a big way! The 24th edition of MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE, presented by Loto-Québec in collaboration with Scotiabank will take place from February 16 to March 5, 2023 in the Quartier des Spectacles.
