Don't miss a fun night of dinin' and dancin' at the Butterfly Lodge Museum Saturday, July 19 with the Mountain Saddle Band! We'll kick things off at 5 p.m. in the Applewhite Pavilion. We'll have burgers ($15), brats ($15) and hot dogs ($10) hot off the grill. Chips, non-alcoholic drink and a cookie are included. Beer and wine also will be available for sale. Surrounded by wildflowers that drew countless visits from butterflies, the Greer, Arizona cabin belonging to author J.W. Schultz begged for a name that captured the beauty of the land. It became Apuni Oyis in the language of the Blackfeet people of the northwestern plains, or Butterfly Lodge. Housed in a century old hunting cabin, the Butterfly Lodge Museum - a registered national historic landmark - offers a unique view of lives as they were lived in the early years of the 20th Century.
