MRT presents "Deliver Us From Mama"

Get ready for a rip-roaring, laugh-out-loud adventure as McKinney Repertory Theatre (MRT) presents Deliver Us From Mama by Jones, Hope and Wooten! Directed by Sienna Riehle and produced by Brad Crabtree, this high-speed Southern comedy is a race against time-and an unforgettable road trip you won't want to miss.

The story kicks off when Walker Sprunt's wife, Hayley, goes into labor with their first child. The problem? She's in Alabama, while Walker is stuck in Los Angeles dealing with a surprise visit from his meddling mother and bossy big sister, Savannah. Just as he gets the call, a nationwide air traffic controllers' strike leaves him stranded. But Mama has a plan-her solution? "Family Road Trip!"

What follows is a chaotic, 2,000-mile sprint across America, through some of the country's most eccentric and colorful communities. From alien encounters near Roswell, a last-minute wedding, and an out-of-control police chase through Texas, the hilarity never stops! One thing is for sure-Mama is determined to be in Birmingham in time for her first grandchild's birth, and heaven help anyone who stands in her way. With outrageous mishaps, quirky characters, and plenty of Southern charm, Deliver Us From Mama is a heartwarming comedy about family, love, and the survival of the fittest (on the open road).
