Festival Details - "MSU's Hispanic Heritage Month Kick Off Celebration"...
Start: Tuesday, September 20, 2022 5:30PM
End: Tuesday, September 20, 2022 7:00PM
National Hispanic Heritage month, a time for celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of people with Hispanic and Latino heritage, runs from September 15 to October 15 each year. These dates are significant. September 15th is the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, followed by the anniversary of Mexican independence on the 16th and Chilean independence on the 18th. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan expanded official recognition of Hispanic Heritage from a week-long event started in 1968 to the current 30-day period.
At Montana State University, a committee of students, staff, faculty, and community partners has come together to design events that will allow the community to celebrar juntos, celebrate together.
The 2022 Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off with an exciting celebration in Inspiration Hall from 5:30-7:00pm on September 20th. After a welcome from President Cruzado, guests will sample food and beverages from a collaboration between Claudia’s Mesa and MSU Executive Chef Jill Flores, dance to music and watch a traditional dance performance. All are welcome to this free evening.
