May 5, 2025 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Newkomis to Hold 2025 Farmer’s Markets NOKOMIS, ILLINOIS — The Nokomis Farmer’s Market will be moving to a new venue for the 2025 growing seasons, as well as being under new management through the Newkomis community organization. The Farmer’s Markets will be held every Wednesday from May 14 to October 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and every Saturday from May 17 to October 11 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The semi-weekly event will be held at Fred B. Johnson Memorial Park in downtown Nokomis. The official list of dates for the 2025 Farmer’s Markets are the following: • May: 14, 17, 21, 24, 28, 31 • June: 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28 • July: 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 30 • August: 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30 • September: 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27 • October: 1, 4, 8, 11, 15 The event is open to the public. The fee is $10 for local growers, crafters, artisans, non-produce vendors, and large volume produce resellers. The fee proceeds are planned for use in an upcoming project for a local community garden. There will be occasional events throughout the season where vendors can set up for free, including the June 7 Breakfast with the Beer Bellies event, which will be held on the 100 block of South Spruce Street. All other special events will be announced accordingly as they are scheduled. Throughout the season, there may be some occasional entertainment on Wednesday evening markets. Announced concerts at this time include: • Kerry Lee on May 14 • Molly Seaton Band on June 4, July 9, August 13, September 3, and October 1 • Trail Blazers on July 2 Unloading and vendor setup on these days will be first-come, first-serve.
