The Caley Groves Trio deliver dynamic arrangements of hot swinging jazz and cool ballads. Double bass, Gypsy Jazz rhythm guitar and dazzling lead guitar lines from both arch-top and Selmer style guitars show Influence from last century's guitar masters like Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery and George Barnes. Their sound evokes the bohemian promenades of Paris in the 1940’s and the gypsy camps of the surrounding arrondissements alike. Since Caley’s arrival in the UK 10 years ago he has been a regular performer on the UK jazz and gypsy jazz scene performing with artists such as Gary Potter, Ben Holder, Remi Harris, Jonny Kerry, Paulus Schaffer and Jamie Cullum. Career highlights include playing the Montreal Jazz festival and the 2016 BBC Proms with Jamie Cullum. In April (2023) Caley released his debut gypsy jazz album ’Loving Memory’. Its been described as ’ Pure Joy’ - BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester AND ’ Seriously accomplished musicians’ - BBC Radio - Shropshire. Caley will be joined by Mike Green on Upright Bass and Elliot Lewis on gypsy guitar.
