Scott Turkington studied at the University of Minnesota, the Boston Conservatory and the Catholic University of America. His teachers have included Heinrich Fleischer, Phillip Steinhaus and George Faxon. Having spent the majority of his life in the Eastern U.S. working for Catholic churches and cathedrals, he is now happily the Director of Sacred Music for the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse and the Dean of the Riverland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. A native of Minneapolis, he has taught and lectured from coast to coast on the subjects of Church music and Gregorian chant, and has conducted choral ensembles in cathedrals all over the U.S. His book and CD, with Theodore Marier, A Gregorian Chant Masterclass, is widely available.
