Our Holiday Wonderland

Festival Details - "Our Holiday Wonderland"...

Start: Saturday, December 2, 2023 7:30PM
End: Saturday, December 2, 2023 8:50PM

Lakeshore Community Chorus (LCC) will present "Our Holiday Wonderland," at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, a concert
celebrating the beauty of the lakeshore and the wonder of the season, on Saturday, December 2 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 3 at 4:00 pm.

Fifty-five singers will be led by Artistic Director John-Kevin (JK) Hilbert, accompanied by LCC pianist Daniel Tague, the Lakeshore Brass, dancers, and soloists.

John Rutter's "Gloria," an exquisite setting of "O Magnum Mysterium" by Morten Lauridsen, and the premiere performance of "Our Wonderland," a collaboration by Artistic Director and composer, Hilbert, and lyricists/chorus members, Wendy Gilbert Gronbeck and Mary Hannah Terzino, headlines the concert. New and fun holiday songs will also entertain audiences, including unusual versions of "Winter Wonderland" and "Jingle Bells(Sort Of)."

"Through the music we sing, we want our audiences to feel the spirit of the season and the warm gift of community," Hilbert said. "We think people will truly enjoy some of the delights we have in store for them, both musical and non-musical."

Hilbert joined LCC as artistic director in July. "Our Holiday Wonderland" will mark his first large-scale concert with this chorus.

"I'm excited to build upon the wonderful directors who have done such great work before me with Lakeshore Community Chorus," Hilbert said. "It's thrilling to work with this dedicated and diverse group of singers. Our members range in age from 17 all the way to 80. Some have been with the Chorus since its inception fourteen years ago; others haven't sung for decades and are just now returning to choral singing; and still others fit every category in between. We're truly the voice of the lakeshore."
