Hone your versification skills at a three-hour writing workshop led by poet Jack Underwood, whose debut collection Happiness won the Somerset Maugham prize.
Open to all ages and abilities, the monthly Out-Spoken Masterclass gives anyone with an interest in poetry a chance to work with acclaimed writers while learning some of their methods and approaches to crafting beautiful and original poetry.
Underwood’s Happiness was published by Faber in 2015. He was a recipient of the Eric Gregory Award in 2007, and his debut pamphlet was published in 2009 as part of the Faber New Poets series.
Two pamphlets by Underwood, Solo for Mascha Voice and Tenuous Rooms, were published by Test Centre in 2018. He is senior lecturer in creative writing at Goldsmiths College.
Out-Spoken, one of London's premier poetry and live music nights, joins us at Southbank Centre for a year-long residency of events and workshops.
