Its philosophy centers on the idea that spaces where artists can express themselves freely are essential for music to thrive. Inspired by forward-thinking “off-nights” like Low End Theory, Hype Fiesta, and producer meetups, Pittsburgh Open Decks has created a platform where DJs and musicians can play the music they truly want without compromise. In doing so, artists not only present their authentic selves but also exchange skills and experiences that might otherwise be limited to larger cities, bringing a sense of growth and elevation to Pittsburgh’s music scene. New artists have found bookings through Pittsburgh Open Decks, and fresh events have emerged from the connections made there.
