Plant City MLK Festival is a 4-day cultural event held in Plant City during the month of January that features a Saturday Parade, Battle of the Bands, Expo with vendors, live music, and Sunday Leadership Breakfast. Timed to coincide with the national holiday commemorating the life of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Festival provides an all-inclusive setting in which citizens of every ethnic background can experience and celebrate the contributions of African Americans as the Heart and Soul of Plant City.
Schedule includes a Opening Ceremony Friday January 16th, Parade featuring Tampa Bay Corvette Posse, Battle of the Bands, and Expo all day Saturday January 17th, Leadership Breakfast 7:30 a.m. on Sunday (Admission Fee), and Memorial Service at the Bing House Museum Monday January 19th, highlight the Plant City MLK Festival.
The Improvement League of Plant City Community Development Corporation as the organizer of this event has been serving the residents of Plant City since 1982. Parade and Vendor applications are now available online.
