Celebrate German heritage, community tradition, and summertime fun at the 44th Annual Porta Westfalica Fest in Historic Downtown Waterloo, Illinois! Join us Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 4 to 10 p.m. for one of Waterloo’s favorite summer traditions featuring authentic German food, cold drinks, live music, family fun, and the beloved Porta Parade at 6 p.m. (Yes, it's a festival - on a Tuesday!) Enjoy festival favorites including bratwursts, pork burgers, potato pancakes, pretzels, desserts, beer, and more from local vendors and businesses. Evening entertainment includes German dancers, the Waterloo German Band, the Busch Light Brigade, and the Waterloo Municipal Band. (Yes, there will be polka dancing!) Funds raised support the Sister Cities German Exchange Student Program and help continue future Porta Westfalica Fest celebrations in Waterloo.
