Start: Saturday, November 2, 2024 12:00PM
End: Saturday, November 2, 2024 3:00PM
Local author and thriller writer Mary Romasanta is teaming up with The Point Food Truck Park and S.E.G. Engineering to host the Pumpkin Drop and Egg Swap-a unique community event designed to give Halloween leftovers a new life! On Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 12-3 PM, the San Antonio community is invited to bring their unwanted pumpkins or Jack-O'-Lanterns to Point Park in exchange for a half-dozen farm-fresh eggs, while supplies last.
All donated pumpkins will be composted and repurposed as nutrient-rich chicken feed, supporting local agriculture and reducing waste. This event not only offers a sustainable solution for post-Halloween pumpkin disposal but also promotes eco-friendly practices in the community.
"We're turning pumpkins into purpose," says Mary Romasanta. "By hosting the Pumpkin Drop and Egg Swap, we're helping the community take a simple action that benefits our local farmers, the environment, and even the chickens!"
