PVD Cello Fest

Friday, May 30th The 134 Collaborative @ Mathewson Street Church 7 pm Cello Fest Kicks off with an exciting evening of multi-genre cellos! Jake Sokolov, EDT, Anna Kerber, Cello Candy, Sammy Wetstein, and Isabel Castellvi perform folk music, alternative songs, experimental music, and improvised music! Saturday, May 31st @ Providence Public Library 10 am - 3:30 pm The day will open with a workshop open to string players of all levels: Grooving on strings through Celtic and American roots folk music, led by our 2025 guest artist Sammy Wetstein. Throughout the day, you can come join an old-time music jam led by the Vox Hunters, and there will be performances by cellists Kamyron Williams, Adrienne Taylor and Andrei Baumann (piano), Laura Cetilia, Red Velvet Vengeance (a cello quartet playing heavy metal). The day culminates in a performance of pop, jazz, and original tunes by Tom Swafford’s string group, String Power! Saturday May 31st, The 134 Collaborative @ Mathewson Street Church 7pm Cello Fest concludes with a night of traditional folk, old-time music, and jams featuring 2025 guest artist Sammy Wetstein, the Vox Hunters, and more local cellists!
